History of SK KLS
For Language, for Culture, and for All
SK Korean Language School was founded in 2020 to create safe and fun environment for any children and adults to learn Hangul, Korean culture and history.
We have five incredible and dedicated teachers who take great pride in their heritage and the language with passion. The students are not just learning Korean in our classes. Especially, children of the first generation Korean immigrants get to have more exposure to the culture and history and they learn to develop a powerful sense of identity. On top of that, Canadian students get to experience Korean culture with special classes such as cooking and Korean movies which helps them to broaden their perspectives for the international and interconnected world. SK Korean Language School is open to everybody regardless of age, nationality and physical location.

안녕하세요. 저는 어린이 입문반을 가르치는 Sunny Lee입니다.
다양한 연령과 배경의 학생들에게 10년 이상 한국어를 가르친 경험으로 학생들이 다양한 활동을 통해 쉽고 즐겁게 한국어를 배울 수 있도록 수업하고 있습니다.
한국어를 배우는 것은 학생들이 한국어와 한국 문화를 배우고 세계와 더 넓게 연결될 수 있는 즐거운 방법이라고 생각하기에, 저는 학생들이 자신감을 키우고, 새로운 것을 배우며, 한국어 학습의 즐거움을 느낄 수 있도록 가르치려고 항상 노력하고 있습니다
Hello, my name is Sunny Lee, and I teach the Children’s Introduction Class.
With over 10 years of experience teaching Korean to students of various ages and backgrounds, I conduct classes that allow students to learn Korean easily and enjoyably through various activities.
Because I believe that learning Korean is an enjoyable way for students to learn the language and culture and connect more broadly with the world, I always strive to teach in a way that allows students to build confidence, learn new things, and experience the joy of learning Korean.

저는 2021년부터 SK 한글학교에서 어린이 입문반 교사로 시작하여, 현재는 다양한 연령과 문화적 배경의 학생들을 대상으로 보조교사와 1:1 수업을 진행하고 있습니다. 다음 학기에도 1:1 수업을 맡아 학생들과 함께 한국어를 가르칠 예정입니다.
저도 영어를 배우며 새로운 언어를 익히는 과정의 어려움과 즐거움을 경험했기 때문에 학생들의 마음을 잘 이해하고 있습니다. 학생들이 한글을 읽고 쓰는 단계에서 시작해 점점 표현이 늘어나고, 한국어로 인사하고 대화하며 자신감을 키워가는 모습을 볼 때 큰 보람을 느낍니다. 저 역시 가르치는 과정에서 계속 배우고 성장하고 있습니다.
I started teaching at SK Korean language school in 2021 as an early childhood beginner class teacher, and I currently work with students of various ages and cultural backgrounds through assistant teaching and 1:1 lessons. I will continue teaching 1:1 classes next semester.
Having learned English while growing up, I understand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language. I find it very rewarding to see students start from learning to read and write Hangul, gradually build up their expression, and gain confidence as they begin to greet and communicate in Korean. Teaching has also been a meaningful learning experience for me.

안녕하세요. 저는 SK 한국어학교에서 교장을 겸하며 한국어를 가르치고 있는 강지유입니다.
저는 15년 이상의 교육 경험을 바탕으로 유아부터 성인까지 다양한 연령층의 학생들에게 한국어를 가르치고 있습니다. 한국어뿐만 아니라 한국의 문화와 역사를 함께 소개하며, 학생들이 즐겁고 자신감 있게 배울 수 있는 수업을 만들기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 특히 아이들을 사랑하며, 한국의 아름다운 문화와 역사를 나누는 일에 큰 보람을 느끼고 있습니다.
I am a Korean language teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching students of all ages, from young children to adults. I am passionate about sharing not only the Korean language but also rich korean culture and history. I enjoy creating engaging and supportive learning experiences, and I especially love helping children develop confidence and enthusiasm for learning Korean.
